- Třinec: scored 1st goal of season at 39:54, added 4 more in 3rd period
- Tomáš Kundrátek: Třinec's 1st goal + 1 assist
- Hannes Björninen: 1 goal + 1 assist for Pelicans
It was an unbelievable night in Třinec, with the home team coming back from the dead, erasing a 3-0 deficit to come back with five straight goals and win a game they absolutely had to win to realistically remain alive.
It was the Lahti Pelicans striking early, with Jonatan Tanus streaking to the net, taking a pass from Hannes Björninen on his backhand and going upstairs on the forehand on Petr Kváča at 3:45. Then it was 2-0 seven minutes later when Severi Lahtinen forced a turnover in the Oceláři Třinec zone and beat Kváča on the backhand deke. Třinec desperately needed a good start to the second period but they were killing a penalty, and on that Lahti power play Hannes Björninen attempted a pass but it hit a sliding Třinec defenceman and deflected into the net.
Needing to do something to spark his team, coach Václav Varaďa replaced Kváča with Patrik Bartošák, and Třinec began generating some offence. Late in the middle frame, they found themselves with a two-man advantage and Varaďa again rolled the dice, this time pulling Bartošák to create a 6-on-3 numerical advantage and it worked. With just six seconds to play in the period, Tomáš Kundrátek launched a bomb from the point after an attacking-zone faceoff and the Steelers had their first goal.
Třinec then owned the third period. They got their second goal early when Patrik Hrehorčák attempted a wraparound that went in off the arm of Karhunen. Less than three minutes after that it was all even when Jiří Polanský potted a rebound after sustained pressure, and they kept coming in waves. At 47:03, Milan Doudera scored the eventual game-winning goal, taking a cross-ice pass from Matěj Stranský and beating Karhunen upstairs.
Tomáš Marcinko's empty-netter sealed the victory, and announced Třinec's presence among the living.
